The center for Bioscience and Technology was founded with the aim of connecting basic science fields to engineering sciences and eventually entering them into the country's industry, focusing on the cooperation of the professors of the science and engineering faculties of Sharif University of Technology (SUT). This science and technology as an important pillar in the development of knowledge-based economy and gaining authority for our country, by using the employment of living organisms or biological systems to produce desired products or present a service. The advance of these high-tech technologies in various fields of everyday life has led to biotechnology to be prioritized in 1404 prospective document of Iran. Considering the multidisciplinary nature of this advanced and value-added technology, its development requires the convergence of different scientific trends and the use of the capabilities of engineering disciplines. Therefore, the proposal to form a group of bioscience and biotechnology in the institute of convergence science and technology was formulated and approved by the board of trustees. Among the activities carried out in this center are: SUT-SBU joint activities and SUT-IUMS joint activities.

Purpose:

• Establishing the cientific and technological infrastructure in the biological and cellularmolecular.

• Development of this knowledge and technology with emphasis on interdisciplinary research.

• Establishing international connections by holding various educational and research events.

• Empowering people and developing expert groups in fields related to this area.

• Providing laboratory services and specialized consultations.
